    Vince Cable pays tribute to one-time local resident Alan Turing   Friday saw the general release of the film The Imitation Game, a dramatic portrayal of the life and work of Alan Turing. By all accounts the film, with the leading role played by Benedict Cumberbatch, is set to be a great success. Oscars are already being talked about.

  • Vince Cable MP supports guide dogs campaign

    Vince Cable MP has lent his support for a call by the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association to ensure that all new buses should be legally required to be fitted with an Audio Visual announcement system. AV is essential for people with street loss to live independently, yet only one fifth of UK's buses have AV.  Without  AV bus passengers with sight loss have to ask the driver to remember to tell them when they have reached their stop. AV doesn’t just help people with sight loss – tourists, older people and infrequent bus users all find AV useful

  • Vince Cable increases pressure on BAA regarding flight path trials

    MP Vincent Cable is demanding an urgent meeting with senior BAA managers and BAA have promised to hold a public meeting with residents following a massive surge in complaints regarding air craft noise. Thousands of residents have appealed to BAA to stop the trials with new flight paths which are causing great annoyance, especially in Teddington.
