  • Vince pays return visit to charity he helped save

    Twickenham MP Vince Cable paid a return visit to the Charity Book Shop in Hampton which he helped save eight years ago. The bookshop at Hampton Railway Station, which has been serving the community for fifty years was threatened with closure eight years ago when the landlords, South West Trains, demanded a rent increase. Thanks to a campaign by the bookshop owners and staff, and the intervention of Vince Cable, the landlords agreed to a rent freeze, allowing the bookshop to keep going.

    Vince will fight to bring Crossrail 2 to Twickenham

    Vince Cable MP went down into the tunnels to see first-hand the work on Farringdon which will be the station linking Crossrail, Thameslink, the Underground and the proposed Crossrail 2 which will connect south west London with Central and North London. Crossrail is proceeding on time and on budget and is the biggest infrastructure project in Europe.
